Item Description

Sometimes all a family needs is a weekend away from the norm. Albuquerque offers the perfect combination of fun and relaxation to allow the kids to have fun and parents to be able to take the deep breath they need and put all their stresses on hold.

Two nights in a suite at the Hampton Inn & Suites North will serve as home base for the weekend.  At the convenience of being in the heart of all the fun things to do with the family in town, you can relax in your inviting guest room which offers all the thoughtful amenities that Hampton Inn & Suites is known for, as well as free hot breakfast buffet, guest business center, laundry service, large fitness room, and indoor pool & spa.

Take a scenic drive around the mountain to the East Mountains and be prepared to be astonished at Tinkertown Museum.  It took Ross Ward over 40 years to carve, collect, and lovingly construct what is now Tinkertown Museum. These miniature wood-carved figures were first part of a traveling exhibit, driven to county fairs and carnivals in the 1960s and ’70s. Today over 50,000 glass bottles form rambling walls that surround a 22-room museum. Inside, the magic of animation takes over. The inhabitants of a raucous little western town animate to hilarious life. Under the big top, diminutive circus performers challenge tigers and defy gravity while the Fat Lady fans herself and a polar bear teeters and totters. Through a doorway and across a ramp waits a big-sized surprise: a 35′ antique wooden sailboat that braved a 10 year voyage around the world.

Next, visit a working alpaca farm! Hollywick Farms invites you to take the family to meet the entire herd and discover the soft, luxurious fiber of these magical animals. The tour of the farm gets you up close and personal! See how the alpaca fiber is used to produce roving, yarn, woven scarves, wraps, felted hats and fashion accessories. Handmade alpaca goods are available at their Farm Store to take home as memorabilia.  As a bonus, you get to take with you one extremely adorable Alpaca Teddy Bear!

The entire family will get a kick out of playing 10 games of miniature golf at Hinkle Family Fun Center!  The center includes a paintball facility, game room with over 90 games, a fully-stocked prize center, a snack bar, party tables, Lazer Frenzy, plus outdoor attractions including two 18-hole miniature golf courses, Go-Karts, bumper boats and a rock climbing wall, a 5,000 square foot Lazer Tag arena and a Nickel City Game.  Plus, Battletech Firestorm Virtual Reality Pods, bumper cars, Light Space, a snack bar and party tables.

Drive on over to the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway and take a round-trip flight for four to see the beautiful New Mexico flora and fauna, skies, sunset and city lights - a sight you won't want to miss! To always remember your Tram experience, you'll take home the beautiful hard-cover book about the history of Sandia Peak Tramway and Ski Area as well as memorabilia of the Tram’s 50th Anniversary.

With all of this activity you'll need some hearty, scrumptious food.  County Line Legendary Bar-B-Que provides the highest quality smoked barbecue – ribs, brisket, sausage and chicken – with traditional sides of cole slaw, potato salad and beans. They serve their BBQ specialties in generous portions at reasonable prices with friendly table service with linens and bar service. County Line is located just a short distance from the base of the Tramway.
