Item Description

Extraordinary CUSTOM MADE  QUILT of the Twelve Tribes (70 x 88-inches)

Lawrence Gifford has been creating personalized  quilts since the 1990’s.  This piece is particularly dear to him as it has been created as a memorial to his dearly missed husband Joe Antenson. He’s sewn many pieces for special occasions including a chuppah, the CBST AIDS memorial  quilt, a Shabbos challah cover from his home, baby  quilts for children and grandchildren, and a vestment for the Church of the Holy Apostles.

The unique piece being offered for this auction is near queen size 70 x 88-inches and has a pocket for a rod if the winner chooses to use it as a wall hanging. The designs of some blocks are taken from a mosaic in a synagogue in Jerusalem.

Larry is a member of the Empire Quilters Guild - an organization to promote the interests of  quilting as an art form.  He is now teaching his grand daughter to  quilt.
