Made with Grapes grown in Dry Creek Valley

  • It's sometimes said that Grenache is a Rhone wine perfect for lovers of good Pinot. The similarities can be taken even further. Like Pinot Noir, Grenache is a difficult grape to grow. It's susceptible to disease as well as overexposure to sunlight. Our organic and Biodynamic practices help us with the first challenge and in 2013, careful management of the vine canopy addressed the second. We also experienced a near perfect growing season, though cool weather at bloom led to a light fruit set and lower yields. The fruit we did harvest was wonderfully balanced, allowing us to produce a Grenache exhibiting a pure expression of our terroir.

What's not surprising when this wine gets into your glass? The bright aromatics that are dominated by a blend of fresh and dried strawberries. What's a little more unexpected is what you sense after the sip: the structured tannins that mellow with a bit of time in the glass. Fresh strawberry and red cherry flavors dominate, accented by touches of baking spices. A wine to uncork now and enjoy with roasted salmon or mild curry or lay down for another 3 to 5 years.
