A nose of black cherry, licorice, black pepper aromas, well focused with floral nuances. The palate is firm red berry, textured bright pomegranate, and supple wax-like black raspberry on the finish. Drink 2016-2022.
This magnum of 2013 Eric Kent Wine Cellars Kalen's Big Boy Blend Syrah offers plenty of forward, big-fruited excitement and is already showing exuberant bing cherry, blackberry, vanilla and pepper. Dark and meaty but still balanced and fresh, Kalen’s continues to be a crowd pleaser without going over the top.
One of our core wines since forever, we often get feedback on early vintages from old friends and List Members and the consensus is that these wines age fabulously well. So there you have it – a wine that is delicious young, but cellar worthy for those with the patience and desire to lay it down.
