Photographed above is N.Y. Philharmonic Principal Flute Robert Langevin standing next to his #7 Lane plate lithograph entitiled, "Sherbrooke's Fluteful Miedo". Lane's technique stipple, consists of hand-drawn India ink dots that create an image. It is a technique frequently used by The Wall Street Journal. The Whitney Museum of American Art Joan Tisch Teaching Fellow Erica Cooke recently commented on Lane's work in stating, "Lane's lithographs are absolutely exquisite and I am especially astounded regarding the labor-intensive process." For the donated piece that will be auctioned off, Lane consulted with current New York Philharmonic Principle Flute Robert Langerin and it represents #11 of 19 hand-pulls.
