Claudia Trevithick is an artist and Board Certified Art Therapist in Private Practice. She recently move to Denver from Louisiana, where she was the first Louisiana art therapist in private practice. She has exhibited throughout the US and also in Europe, as part of the UN Mid-Decade Conference on Women. Her private practice in Aurora is Claudia Trevithick-Creative Therapist.
As an artist and art therapist, I resonate with color, feel it viscerally, and, like most artists, express myself more easily through color and artwork. Whether focusing on internal feelings or external stimuli, I find joy in painting abstract or realistic imagery. For this painting I used my new absorption in gelli plate printing and the use of stencils. I found it fun to layer, release control, and just ‘play’.
