Item Description
“Monkey Cake” by May Dolan
Acrylic Paint on Canvas
This bright image is of a fun-loving monkey popping out of a cake. May’s inspiration was an episode of Portlandia where a girl came out of a cake. It struck May as a funny and creative idea for the Monkey Project.
May wrote: I looked up photos of monkeys with funny expressions and I wanted to use colors that looked good together. At parties sometimes someone will be in the cake, but instead of a human I put a monkey.
