Item Description
Award-winning artist Barbara Greensweig paints "captured moments in time." Vineyards by old barns, flowers cascading from windows and doorways, and porches with sleeping dogs, all executed in bold and happy compositions with brilliant color, characterize the work of this artist. Greensweig has resided over 30 years in the wine country of Northern California, a favorite subject in her work. The artist also enjoys painting on location "en plein aire." Art trtips to Southern France early in her career led Greensweig to start painting sunflowers and fields of lavender before each became trendy. Her favorite sports aborad are the hilltops villages of Provence as well as San Miguel de Allende in Colonial Mexico with its rich adobe colors.
Greensweig's work has been featured on event posters, for promotion at Northern California wineries, on telephone directory covers, and used in products by a variety of companies. Her paintings are part of private and corporate collections in the U.S. and internationally. Greensweig paints on commission for private clients and businesses.
Greensweig attended the University of California at San Diego and the University of Arizona earning a B.A. and M.A. degrees and has taught art classes professionally to all ages. She has raised 3 children and currently lives in Northern California with her husband. She works at home in her studio/gallery which is pictured in the 2002 Sunset Book Ideas for Backyard Cottages.
Greensweig's line of wine country greeting cards, limited edition fine art prints, and original oils and acrylics are sold in wineries, gift shops, and galleries throughout California. For more information: barbara@bgreensweigart.com or www.bgreensweigart.com
