Item Description
You are bidding on two (2) weeks of BAX's Summer Arts Program which runs July 5-August 19, 2016. Visit youth.bax.org/summer for more info.
During BAX’s Summer Arts Program children entering kindergarten through 6th grade participate in three different groups:
Nano BAXers (children entering kindergarten to entering 1st grade),
Mega BAXers (children entering 2nd grade to entering 3rd grade),
GigaBAXers (children entering 4th grade to entering 6th grade).
NanoBAXers explore differently weekly themes with a variety of different Guest Artists working in movement, theater, music and stories. Nanos create work that is collected and presented in a gallery-style sharing at the end of the week. Additionally throughout the week, Nanos engage in Group Leader and Counselor Led activities, balancing fun creative play with their outdoor play and gallery preparations. Activities include arts and crafts, group songs and dances, drama adventures, storytelling, and more. NanoBAXers group capacity is 25.
Mega and Giga BAXer groups explore a different arts specialty each week, working with two specialists to build their skills and foster their creativity over the course of five days. Throughout the week, Group Leader and Counselor Led activities take place, balancing fun creative play with outdoor play and performance preparations. Activities include arts and crafts, group songs and dances, drama adventures, storytelling, and more. Each week culminates in an informal performance in the BAX Theatre for friends and families. MegaBAXers group capacity is 30. GigaBAXers group capacity is 30.
During the summer, students go outside each day to enjoy lunch and playtime in the nearby JJ Byrne Playground and Old Stone House sports field (between 3rd and 4th Streets on 5 Avenue).
