Item Description
Caro Parr has been practicing art since the age of 9. This is the 2nd time she has created a mask for the Annual Denver Hospice Mask Project. Caro has worked in several mediums, such as painting, pottery, sculpting, water color, textiles and quilt wall art. She started out painting in the realistic art form, but lately has begun experimenting in the modern and abstract art forms. Many of her paintings are in the homes of co-workers and friends. She has displayed and sold her art work at Brighton’s City Hall and the Republic Plaza in downtown Denver, and hopes to increase her showings in the near future.
I find the peacock to be a very colorful and vibrant bird, so I decided to use that as my theme. The mask shows a peacock with a hint of feathers and gems marking the eyes of the feathers. The addition of the feathers makes the peacock more alive and real.
