Winning bidder receives a copy of Howard Zinn: A Life on the Left signed by author Martin Duberman. Martin Duberman is Professor of History Emeritus at the Graduate School of the City University of New York and Lehman College. A founder and keynote speaker of the Gay Academic Union, he later founded and served as first director of the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies at the CUNY Graduate School. He was also a member of the founding boards of the National Lesbian and Gay Task Force, Lambda Legal Defense Fund, and Queers for Economic Justice. He has written more than 25 books, on such subjects as James Russell Lowell, Charles Francis Adams, Sr., Black Mountain, Paul Robeson, the Stonewall riots, and the Haymarket affair. His 2007 book, The Worlds of Lincoln Kirstein was runner-up for the Pulitzer Prize. He is the only author to have been allowed to write a biography of Howard Zinn.
