A meditation chamber is not a necessity for meditation, but many who are serious about practicing meditative techniques find that a personalized chamber allows them to make the most of their meditation time. This space should provide privacy and exude simplicity; it should be an area where you can relax and focus without distraction.
Meditation chamber completed in late 2010. Composed of fourteen mesquite planks six feet tall ten inches wide and one inch thick with black fabricated metal hinges and metal loop door handles. Diameter approximately forty inches. Interior hand carved in a continuous design. Candles six inches, nine and a half inches and twelve inches tall alternating from left to right. Revolving mesquite seat seventeen inches tall and twenty and a half inches wide and one inch thick. Stained glass circles.
About donor, Kathy Haun: Kathy has been a professional artist since 1960 working for the first seven years with Tucson architects creating artistic wood elements for churches, residences and public buildings, carved doors, corbels, lintels, door pulls and fountains and garden sculpture of cast stone (cement) while marketing my bas relief carved wall sculptures from galleries and art markets.
