Item Description
Vivienne Douglas took up painting upon retiring from a career in business. This has given her a whole new perspective on the world and on people. She has been selected for, and won various awards, in area art shows. She gives full credit to a cadre of wonderful art instructors who have helped in her transition to the D'Arte Side.
Many of her works show the lives of women, and the roles they play, both in their daily routines and at life's special times. Her paintings often show different cultures and the stories of their experiences. By portraying their feelings, joys, disappointments, sorrows and hopes, she strives to reflect the common ties that all people share and that, ultimately, bind us all together.
Item Special Note
I named this piece "Moon Shot - One Day a Cure". It comes with a simple message and a hope that we can all appreciate. It is a wish that remedies and treatments will soon be found and, better yet, that it will inspire discoveries for much needed prevention and cures. This mask is a symbol of our fight, not only against Cancer, but also for the end of Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy and all the other diseases that can bring so much misery and horror, suffering and heartache to the lives of many families today.
