A Giclee Copy of a SEDRAH PAINTING by Drew Kopf

Item Number

Estimated Value
500 USD
Opening Bid

Item Description

A Sedrah Painting is a hand painted watercolor created by Drew Kopf, a member of BJ, in which he endeavors to capture the essence of a particular Parsha or Sedrah (portion of the Five Books of Moses read in an annual cycle each Sabbath during the morning service) and the essence of the Haftara, which is a segment of one of the books of the Writings or the Prophets that accompanies that particular Sedrah.

Drew has been creating his Sedrah Paintings since the year 2000 and, to date, has completed fifteen of them. The more recent ones have been digitally scanned with high density equipment enabling the creation of what are known as giclée copies, which involves the use of archival inks sprayed on to watercolor paper similar to the paper used to make the original paintings.

Those bidding on a giclée copy of a Sedrah Painting will be bidding on a full sized copy of an original painting as described above with a Biblical commentary written by Mr. Kopf, who is a graduate of both Yeshiva University High School and of Yeshiva College, as well as any number of similarly sized, larger sized or smaller sized giclée copies with reprints of the commentary all based on the price chart below with a discount of 50% exclusive of the cost of framing, packaging shipping charges, which will be added to the final invoice.

It must be noted that Drew retains the copyright to his various works, both the paintings and the commentaries, so the winning bidder would still be restricted by the laws of copyright with regard to the painting and the written commentary selected.

The sizes of Drew's Sedrah Paintings have varied and can not be predicted other than to say that typical sizes have been: 30"x22" nominal unframed 19-1/2" x 13-1/2" unframed 26-1/2" x 18-1/2" unframed 20" x 28" nominal unframed

As a kind of "forshpiece" and in the way to hopefully whetting the appetites of potential bidders for what we hope will be considered a very special gift for a young Bar or Bat Mitzvah, please refer to Drew's latest Sedrah Painting done for Parsahs Chayei Sarah Genesis XXIII:1-XXV:18 and it companion Haftara from I Kings Chapter I Verses 1 to 31

The high bidder for Giclee Copies of Sedrah Paintings by Drew Kopf can purchase as many copies or sizes for the amount of the winning bid based on 25% off the prices listed on his website at the following URL address: http://www.echelonartgallery.com/artists/dgk/paintings/jewish/05-chayei-sarah/chayei-sarah.html Winning bidder will be responsible for the cost of framing and packaging for shipment as well as all shipping related charges, which will be added to the final invoice. The ultimate value would depend on the number and sizes of giclée copies are purchased by the winning bidder.
