Item Description
This Tree of Life has among its leaves and branches all the letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Across the top of the tree (crown) are the words taken from Proverbs 3:18: Etz chaim he lamachazikim ba, which mean [The Torah is] "a Tree of Life to those who hold fast to it." To the right of the verse is a Menorah, the oldest Jewish symbol; and in the center of the tree the artist has placed a Torah scroll.
This beautiful paper cut is one of a limited edition of 250 laser cuts, signed and numbered by the Israeli artist Ya'akov Ne'eman. A copy of this laser cut is in the permanent collection of Jewish art the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.
The actual paper cut is 6"x8" and measures 13"x16" with the mat. The winning bidder can choose from either:
- An antique white paper cut mounted on a burgundy background
- A green paper cut mounted on an antique white background
- An antique white paper cut mounted on a blue background
