She has been painting since 2009, with a focus on watercolor portraits. Hillary is an award winning artist and a Signature Member of both the Colorado Watercolor Society and the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies. "I love that there comes a point when the painting seems to paint itself. I was inspired to paint for the mask project because Hospice's dedication is an inspiration to me," Hillary says.
Black Sheep symbolizes that, contrary to popular opinion, there are numerous positive elements to being a "black sheep." The dragonfly represents a friend who passed recently. She was care for by hospice and embodied all the good of being a black sheep, such as being interest, eccentric and upbeat.
