Item Description
Albert's Dream is a limited edition print by artist and Limmud NY presenter, Michal Nachmany. It is also the title of her recent show at the 14th Street Y, dedicated to the memory of her parents.
The exhibit centered around the story of "Albert", a fictional character who arrived in Palestine as part of the Youth Aliyah movement. "Albert" was one of about 15,000 children, many of them orphans, and most of them Holocaust survivors, who arrived in Palestine after World War II to begin a new life.
Like all of Michal's art, Albert's Dream includes echos of her childhood in Jerusalem. Her multimedia work includes American and Israeli memorabilia, legal contracts, letters, photo albums, matchboxes, postcards, and other found objects.
This beautiful limited edition print over aluminum measures 20"x20" and is ready to hang.
Don't miss Michal's current show, Beyond the Balcony, at UJA-Federation through June 30th.
