Item Description
Are you a Civil War buff? Are you someone who wonders about the big war-related questions – did slavery really cause the Civil War? Why didn’t Reconstruction work out better? Or are you fascinated by the small ones – how did minié ball ammunition affect the battlefield? Was it really Longstreet’s fault that the Union won at Gettysburg? What did Harriet Tubman do in the war? If you’d like to chat with an expert about these or any other Civil War issues, enjoy a dinner (or lunch) with Bill Harris.
J. William (Bill) Harris lives in South Boston and teaches history at the University of New Hampshire. He is the author or editor of seven books focusing on the Civil War, southern history, and African American history, one of which was a finalist for the 2002 Pulitzer Prize in History. He also likes to talk about the South (and its literature), and about African American history.
Item Special Note
Experience good for up to two people. Included will be $100 gift certificate towards dinner or lunch at a mutually agreeable location among the winner, Bill Harris, and coordinator, Central Square Theater.
