Item Description
"Metamorphosis" is a a mask created by Whitney Heffelfinger. An art teacher in Douglas County for 18 years, the reoccurring themes of her work seem to revert back to life cycles. Sometimes shown through plant life in sculptural form or in this case possibly the most obvious life cycle found in the butterfly. Whitney's artwork comments on her changes and growth in life and the seasons we all go through. This mask of the emerged butterfly represents a season of maturity that is flourishing and in full bloom.
