The pendant measures 16 mm diameter, (about the size of a dime). Complete with a soldered sterling silver bail on a lightweight 16" or 18" genuine marked 925 solid sterling silver cable-style chain. 

Artisan-made glass enamel pendant, with original hand drawn designs, done with graphite and pigments, of flora and fauna on front and back. The enamel is fired in a kiln, and the drawing is preserved forever in the glass. The charm of the work is in the artisanal character of each individual piece. Because each design is drawn by hand, designs are similar but no two are exactly alike. Unlike mass produced jewelry products, each piece is unique and reflects the nature that it features.

The illustrations are thoughtfully designed with relationships between the illustrations on the front and back of each piece; the Potential series has an organism in an early stage of life on the back, and on the front is the same organism if allowed to flourish in it's environment. Animals and plants designs are mostly made up of species that are native to New England, and each piece is artisan made in New England, in the United States. The enamels are made through a process by fusing glass particles to metal in a 1500 degree oven, a process that is rarely used to make jewelry today, and is permanently fused to the metal. This process is entirely different from inexpensive jewelry that has painted on enamel paint, that gives a flat appearance and will wear off over time, unlike true enamel jewelry.

Comes wrapped along with the greeting cards with Cait Marchetti Jewelry artwork, making it a complete gift. Wrapped in recycled paper eco-friendly Cait Marchetti Jewelry packaging and box stamped on the bottom with a message to "(recycle heart symbol) please recycle!" and tied with a green raffia ribbon, this is a great gift to give or receive!
