Allison Schmitt won gold in the 200m free and added three medals (two gold) in relays at the 2015 Pan American Games. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she won bronze in the 400m free relay, took gold in the 800m free relay, gold in the 400m medley relay (WR) and gold in the 200m free with a best time of 1:53.61. Schmitt also took silver in the 400m free with a best time of 4:01.77. Allison qualified for the 2012 Olympic Team by finishing first in the 200m free (setting a new American record) and 400m free and third in the 100m free at Trials. She won a gold medal as part of the 800m free relay at the 2011 FINA World Championships and was sixth in the 200m free. At the 2011 ConocoPhillips National Championships, Allison won the 200m free and placed fourth in the 100m and 400m free. She won the 500y FR and 200y FR at the 2011 NCAA Championships and claimed first place in the 200m free and second in the 400m free at the 2010 CP National Championships. Allison set American records in the 200m and 400m free events at the 2009 MOO Duel in the Pool. She earned silver medals in the 200m free and 800m free relay at the 2009 FINA World Championship. She earned a national title in the 400m free at the 2009 National Championships and claimed her first NCAA title in the 500y free in 2009. She earned a bronze medal and an American record in the 800m free relay at the 2008 Olympic Games; also placed ninth in the 200m free.
