Item Description

I’m a mixed media artist in Westminster, Colorado who loves nature and flowers! I am invigorated by the colors and shapes, soothed by the way the wind gently moves the leaves and centered when I smell fresh air after the rain. I have always felt most calm, most at rest, most secure when surrounded by growing things. My art is a way for me to live in that place of calm and happiness, and share that feeling with others. My artwork highlights the calming effect nature has to lower stress and bring a sense of joy and connection to other people. I believe that both art and nature have the power to improve our lives. “Transcendence” In this piece, the face on the mask is transformed into a monarch butterfly; a symbol of emergence from the dark and transformation into a new, more enlightened form. From the center of the piece, this butterfly’s heart is glowing. It’s metamorphosis is fueled by love. It is a message of peace and empowerment, of accepting what was and moving gracefully into a new form. It was created in the artist’s signature style, using acrylic paint and cut paper.
