Leah Hendricks is a Denver based artist exploring mixed media, impressionism, and photography. Her pieces are found in galleries and public and private collections nationwide. Leah’s art emphasizes texture, composition, and color, and is often inspired by nature. Her mask is based on her series of paintings called “TerraScapes” and is themed on the Gulf of Mexico. Materials used include a variety of shells including Abalone, Cone, Moon, Scallop, Conch, Ark, Triton, Auger, Bonnet, Cantharus, Dove, Drill, and Cockle; Amethyst; Agate; Green Calcite; Sea Glass; Mirrored Fragments; Rocks; Sand; Craft and Tissue Paper; Yarn; Gel Medium; Acrylic Paint. Combined to create waves of textural layers, inspired by the Gulf of Mexico. The painting and textures continue around the sides of the mask.
