Item Description

This is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted pendant/earring suite, crafted from Tektite and set in sterling silver with 1.65 ct black diamond and 10x11mm drop Tahitian pearl.  Irene Patton designed and made the suite with a nod to the 1970 Tektite Habitat Project on St. John, made historically important by Dr. Sylvia Earle and others. You will be out of this world and sure to make waves wearing this gorgeous suite!

Discovered in the Australasian strewnfield, Tektites are gravel sized bodies composed of black and other colors of natural glass formed from terrestrial debris ejected during meteorite impact with Earth.

This Tektite was aerodynamically shaped, 14-20 centimeters across. Impact was estimated at .77 million years ago.  It was cut by a lapidarist, leaving the natural edge on one side.
