Item Description

Travel in style with the simple and fashionable leather clutch, completely hand-sewn by Minnesota artist Beth Dow. Beth is an instructor at North House Folk School, where she teaches "Hand-Sewn Leather Cases: Saddle Stitch Style."

Beth Dow is an artist and teacher from Minneapolis. She calls herself analog-retentive, and is interested in contemporary applications for traditional crafts. She has an MFA in photography, and her work has been exhibited around the world. Beth also makes saddle-stitched leather goods and artist books, and is an obsessive spoon carver. She takes a playful approach in her classes, encouraging students to experiment and have fun while mastering process. In her spare time Beth likes to play her ukulele with friends, and she sings with the Prairie Fire Lady Choir. Beth is a Visiting Professor of Art and Art History at St. Olaf College.

Vegetable tanned leather, hand sewn. Removable strap. Will naturally darken over time with use. Leave it in the sun to darken more quickly. Winner is responsible for picking up item at North House Folk School or paying shipping cost.
