Item Description

To celebrate the Allagash Wilderness Waterway's 50th Anniversary in 2016 we are proud to introduce The Allagash as our first River Series paddle. The 92-mile Allagash Wilderness Waterway in northern Maine is one of America's preeminent canoe trips. Established by the Maine State Legislature in 1966 and designated by the U.S. Department of the Interior in 1970 as the first state-administered component of the National Wild and Scenic River System, the Allagash is what wilderness paddling is about. An intricate hand drawn map of the Waterway by our own Sam Martinelli (General Manager and paddler extraordinaire) is engraved on the blade of our handcrafted ash beavertail blade. Maine Ash is the quintessential wood for canoe paddles, tough, durable, with a great flex. The custom elongated grip makes it perfect for tripping.
