Item Description
In this 1½ hour experience for two, you’ll be immersed in the lifestyle of a north woods dog musher -- once you arrive at our off-grid homestead tucked away in the remote wilderness of Minnesota’s Arrowhead Region. This promises to be an experience of a lifetime!
The Points Unknown sled dogs are friendly and exuberant and always up for adventure and meeting new people. You’ll be getting a taste of dog mushing, and the dogs will already be harnessed and ready to go. All you need to do is jump in the sled and we’re off! For dog lovers, there will be some cuddle time with the sled dogs after your adventure on the trail.
We’re located 7 miles up the Arrowhead Trail on Irish Creek Road in Hovland, 19 miles northeast of Grand Marais, MN.
The timeline for your entire dog sledding experience can vary slightly, depending upon how much time you would like to spend in the dog yard, playing with the dogs, after the adventure. It’s entirely up to you! We have two time slots available daily: 10 am and 2 pm.
Prior to your experience, we’ll chat with you about what you can expect, provide a list of what to wear, and check to see if you have any special needs of which we need to be aware -- all done so that your time with us can be most fulfilling.
This item is for two people. For optimal trail time, we suggest no more than 4 people in each time slot; however, we can tailor the adventure to your group, so let’s chat! For the safety and enjoyment for the dogs, the musher and you, there is a weight limit in of 275 pounds per sled, with no more than two people per sled (1 adult/1 child, 2 smaller adults or 1 person in each sled).
Children under the age of 5 are invited to come along to meet the dogs; however, no one under the age of 5 will be allowed to ride in the sled.

The winning bidder will be provided contact information for Points Unknown and will be required to make arrangements directly with them.
This experience for two people is about 1½ hours long and expires March 2017.
