Noted author, photographer and seaman, Villiers first sailed as a boy in merchant barques between Australia and New Zealand. Throughout his life, he continued to sail hundreds of thousands of miles in many of the most famous of square-riggers, including his own Joseph Conrad. The Last of the Wind Ships documents his work on the Herzogin Cecilie, the Grace Harwar, and the Parma in the late 1920s and 1930s.
