Item Description
In this hand carved piece from Dharma Sculpture Lord Buddha's hands are in the dharmachakra mudra. This is the gesture of teaching. Dharma means 'law' and chakra means 'wheel' and is usually interpreted as turning the Wheel of Law. This was the hand gesture exhibited by Lord Buddha while preaching his first sermon in Sarnath.
The sculpture is entirely hand carved and hand painted in Bali, Indonesia.
Dharma Sculpture is a quality conscious company that specializes in Buddhist sculpture from Asia, particularly Nepal, Cambodia, Indonesia and Myanmar (Burma). They purchase only the highest quality pieces for their online gallery.
