Item Description

Point Reyes National Seashore Association is going to the birds by partnering with Dancing Coyote Beach Cottages and California naturalist David Wimpfheimer for a special two-night stay and four-hour natural birding tour of the park for up to four guests.

You'll also receive a copy of "Discovering Birds at Point Reyes" by Rich Stallcup and Melissa Pitkin, courtesy of the Point Reyes National Seashore Association Bookstore at Drakes Beach.

In addition, enjoy breakfast for up to six guests, gratituty not included, at the Station House Cafe in Point Reyes Station. There's no place better for authentic West Marin locavore dining.

The Marin Independent Journal had this to say about the Station House Cafe,"I can't think of a more delightful place to bring my summer guests to show off the best of what Marin has to offer."

Start your two-night adventure for up to four people by checking into one of the Dancing Coyote Beach Cottages in Inverness, California, right on Tomales Bay. Choose from one of their four cottages, each featuring a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a fully furnished kitchen stocked daily with breakfast items, McRoskey mattresses, free wi-fi, and private decks with views of Tomales Bay. Enjoy birdwatching from your deck, or cozy up in one of the nooks to read or dream.

Your experience also includes a four-hour natural history tour for four people of selected parts of Point Reyes National Seashore, focused on the rich birdlife of the area and specifically hawks, falcons and other raptors.

David Wimpfheimer is a biologist, professional naturalist and guide with a passion for birds and the natural history of the West.

During his twenty years of expeditions, in addition to local classes for the Point Reyes Field Institute, Marin Agricultural Land Trust and the California Academy of Sciences, he has led numerous tours to Mexico, Alaska, Scotland and other regions for groups including the Smithsonian Institution, Wild Wings, and Elder hostel.

Although the majority of David’s field trips are geared toward teaching and interpreting the language of the avian world, he is just as experienced teaching the rich diversity of the greater natural world.

To get the most out of your visit to Point Reyes National Seashore, stop by one of PRNSA's Visitor Center Bookstores.
