Item Description

Come see what all the buzz is about with a honey wine tour and tasting for six at Heidrun Meadery in Point Reyes Station, plus a Bee Spirits basket of cards, notebook and bee-friendly wildflower seeds, plus Big Dipper Wax Works beeswax candles, and a copy of the Urban Bee Lab's "California Bees & Blooms: A Guide for Gardeners and Naturalists."

Heidrun Meadery produces naturally sparkling varietal meads using the traditional French Méthode Champenoise. Their trademark Champagne-style of mead is light, dry, delicate and refreshing, with subtle exotic aromas and flavors found only in the essence of honey.

The Meadery was founded in 1997 in Arcata, California, and in 2011, relocated to a farm in Point Reyes to develop its botanical and apicultural programs.

Bee Spirits are created from original India ink drawings, printed and mounted on recycled papers. The greeting cards are blank inside and ready for your heartfelt bee-lines.The artist, Cindy Davis is a dancer, artist, restorative yoga teacher, a lover of bees and all beings. She lives and creates in her West Marin hive home with the bees, the trees, and the seas.

Big Dipper Wax Works was born in the summer of 1993 as the final rays of sunshine dipped below the horizon on hiking adventure along the rugged shoreline of the Olympic Peninsula in the Pacific Northwest.

As the fresh ocean air and emerging stars arose, the soon-to-be founders of Big Dipper decided to create a natural source of light using hand-dipped beeswax candles. Like drones to their queen, they have served and remain dedicated to making the best of all natural candles available.

The University of California at Berkeley's Urban Bee Lab has been working since 1987 on documenting bee diversity and bee frequencies on wild California plants in several northern California sites. After several years of sampling in residential areas of the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area they have found about 90 species of bees, most of which are native to California.

Experience the buzz, sip the golden honey mead and get educated, bid today!
