Item Description

O Say Can You See. . .
Teach your children all that makes Maryland great with these sets of family memberships to The Maryland Historical Society and the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House.

MARYLAND HISTORICAL SOCIETY:

Enjoy free admission to the Maryland Historical Society museum and library for 2 adults and any children under the age of 17 for one year.  Membership also includes a print subscription to the quarterly Maryland Historical Magazine and biannual MdHS News, as well as discounts on MdHS event tickets and gift shop purchases.

This is your starting place for exploring the people, places and events that shaped Maryland’s past. Whether you are a student researching a paper, a teacher in need of a lesson plan, a family looking for fun things to do, a collector of rare objects, an amateur genealogist or a lover of period clothing, furniture or rare documents, we can help. You will find everything you need right here – including links to activities, guides and holdings at more than 300 other Maryland historical sites and institutions. Quickly access the information you need, or let our experts point you in the right direction.

STAR SPANGLED BANNER FLAG HOUSE:

This family pass admits up to four individuals for a guided or self-guided tour.

At the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House, you’ll find something quite rare: A fun-filled, interactive experience where you and your entire family will become part of one of the most important stories of our nation's history– the sewing of the flag that inspired our National Anthem.

Here, you’ll step into living history as you meet Mary Pickersgill, the spirited woman who made the flag. You'll learn first-hand from Mary, her family and friends what life was like in the 19th century and your kids can take part in activities that let them experience it for themselves.

Open for guided tours Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, 10AM to 4PM with the last tour beginning at 3:15PM. Self  guided tours are available Tuesday through Saturday 10 AM to 4PM.
