Item Description
The "Be Happy Anyway" necklace is the result of a Dharma Punx silent retreat attended by designer Kathy Cherry. Their schedule included an afternoon yoga class. Kathy explains, "The instructor was talking to us about the difficulties we all encounter and she said, 'You can be happy despite life's difficulties.' It was just one of those moments when you really see - Yes! that's totally true. I can be happy anyway. The problem is remembering that when crappy stuff happens."
When asked about the inspiration for her work, Kathy says "There are so many powerful images in Buddhism and the teachings. I wanted to find ways to remember and incorporate them into my day to day life so I did what has always come naturally to me, I made something. It's jewelry that's designed to remind."
