Special thanks to the New Haven Museum for their gracious donation of this item. The New Haven Museum was founded in 1862 as the New Haven Colony Historical Society. From its inception, the institution has sought to collect, preserve, and make available for research the materials which document the history of the greater New Haven area. They continue to educate young people and adults today through the creative work of their Education Department which provides cutting-edge programs and educational outreach.
