Corey Rose joined the KUSA-9NEWS team in January 2010. Before that, she worked in Casper, Wyo. for two years where she anchored and produced the weekday and evening newscasts, totaling 15 broadcasts a week. She was also Assistant News Director for part of her term. A Southern California native, Corey started her journalism career in Studio City, Calif. behind the camera. She worked at KCBS/KCAL for a year, starting as a production assistant and working her way up to the assignment desk. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a major in broadcast journalism and a minor in health and physical education. Corey is an award-winning journalist, having won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award in 2011 for best sports-news story. Corey's favorite part of broadcast journalism is being able to help others and give back. She is wholeheartedly involved in several local charities including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Corey hosts an annual benefit concert, sponsored by 9NEWS, in honor and memory of her father who passed away in 2010 of Leukemia. Each year, she raises enough money to grant a wish to a Colorado kid fighting Leukemia. In her free time, Corey enjoys traveling, cooking, skiing, sports and anything outdoors or adventurous.

About the Mask Artist: Raised on Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico, Mason Taylor was exposed to a way of life considered quite rare in today’s day and age.  Growing up among cowboys and musicians, he used both influences to create a style of art that is both modern and traditional. Utilizing baling wire found on the ranch, he began sculpting what he saw around him: beginning with small animals, he has since developed his work to include life-sized quarter horses and even lions. In addition, being born completely colorblind, his attention to detail and unparalleled depth perception has facilitated the creation of incredibly realistic acrylic paintings. Again, pulling from what he knows, his depictions of the ranch and its animals are representative of the most endearing and aesthetic aspects of ranch life.
