Item Description
This package includes three nights lodging for two at Cascade Lodge on Lake Superior, including daily breakfast and bag lunch, and shuttle to hiking trailheads. Cascade Lodge is nestled on Lake Superior's shore and bordered on all sides by Cascade River State Park, one of Minnesota's premiere state parks, whose centerpiece is the magnificent Cascade River with its spectacular waterfalls and dramatic canyon. The world-famous Superior Hiking Trail runs through the park and is accessible out the door of the lodge.
For the adventurous hiker, we suggest the following hiking itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive at Cascade Lodge, hike the Lookout Mountain to Cascade River loop - 4 miles.
Day 2: Shuttle to Caribou trailhead and hike back to Cascade Lodge - 9 or 11 miles.
Day 3: Hike the Cascade River Loop - 8.4 miles.
Enjoy the beauty of the Superior Hiking Trail on these three popular day hikes, or other optional hikes nearby that we can suggest upon your arrival. Stay at Cascade Lodge overlooking Lake Superior in one of our standard main lodge rooms. Relax in the evening at our cozy pub and enjoy a well-deserved ice cold beer after a day of hiking.
