Item Description
Terise Harrington Phillips is a Colorado Fiber Artist with a passion for fabric and printmaking. She started working with fabric as a young girl, learning to sew with her mother, an accomplished seamstress and designer. While obtaining her fine arts degree at Colorado State University, Terise found new ways to create her own fabric by incorporating printmaking techniques. In the past few years, Terise has explored the use of quilting, interplaying stitching and embroidery within her designs. Her unique work has been shown in numerous juried exhibitions including Quilt National, and galleries throughout the country. www.teriseharrington.com
My work is about ebb and flow – strict pattern intertwined with organic growth. For this mask, I used raw canvas, machine quilted with multiple types of thread including cotton, rayon and metallic. I tried to convey the essence and beauty of the stitch in its purest form on a raw, neutral background. “I’m Facing You”
