This Golden Cod Design man's bow tie is 100% silk (navy), stain resistant, and adjusable from 13 3/4 to 18 1/2 . This tie is great for weddings, black tie events, or a simple summer night! Decal included It features the Golden Cod logo. The Golden/Sacred Cod is a traditional symbol of New England fishing industry. The Cod was the first export of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and the basis of the states economy until the Industrial Revolution. Because of the importance of the cod industry, a wooden carving of a painted codfish has hung in the House of Representatives Chamber in the Massachusetts State House in Boston since the early 18th century, as well as on church steeples and above doorways all around New England. GoldenCodDesign chose to put this revered symbol on our high quality clothing so the wearers could proudly show their connection to New England. However, people across the country have now purchased our hats and ties and belts making the cod more than just a local symbol.
