You are bidding on 2 interesting wines: A 2010 Ballentine Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and a 2009 dArenberg Dead Arm Shiraz.The Ballentine was purchased at the winery and is sealed with gold wax and signed by the winery caretaker in gold pen.It is a beautiful Cabernet with full flavor and body, but without a harsh bite.It will enter its prime drinkability period around 2018 and is typically rated a 92 point wine.The dArenberg is a fine Australian Shiraz.The term Dead Arm comes from the fact that a portion of these old vines have become dead wood, which makes them known for producing some of the most powerful and concentrated flavors because all the vines energy goes into creating half the fruit.Typically rated a 94 point wine, it is very deep garnet-purple colored and presents an intense and complex nose of blackberry preserves and dried mulberries over coffee, black olives, smoky bacon and humus. The palate is richly fruited and nicely balanced with layers of savory and dark berry flavors and crisp acid textured by medium-firm finely grained tannins. Should be drinking best 2013 to 2024+
