Each year in May, the JCCCNC organizes a youth, family and community clean-up day at the Japanese Cemetery in Colma. In the age of smartphones, tablets, and the Internet, we oftentimes find ourselves too busy in our daily lives to honor our past and remember those who have passed on by visiting the Japanese Cemetery. The Japanese Cemetery is a unique cultural treasure that deserves our attention, our respect, and our time, as it represents our history, our loved ones, friends and family. For many, it’s the place where parents, grandparents, family and friends are laid to rest. For all, the loved ones that rest there represent our history. A little goes a long way.
