My map consists of a 3d topographical projection of the site, with an extensive look at the geological underground formations, specifically, illustrating metaphysical beliefs and the Hollow Earth Theory which states that beneath the Earth's crust is a hollowed body while still maintaining an iron core with liquid nickel-iron alloy brewing at the center.

There is much symbology within the piece as well:

The blue icosahedrons represent the lake because, according to Plato, this shape represents the water element. The large tower is actually one of Nicola Tesla's greatest achievements: Wardenclyffe Tower aka Tesla Tower was an electrical station designed to deliver free wireless energy to a huge vicinity with zero waste emissions into the environment and endless supply. Truly ahead of it's time in 1901 and it was destroyed a year after it's completion by the bankers who preferred to pollute the planet with coal burning power-plants because they felt there was more profit.

The guitar is a Fender Stratocaster flipped upside down, much like Jimmy Hendrix would have done. Not an exact replica due to time constraints.

There's a few other gems hidden in this piece as we begin our journey underground:

As we burrow deeper, massive stalactites of ruby unearth a colossal dinosaur skeleton beneath the sediment. When asked “why a dinosaur?” was there, I replied, “why not?!” Besides the fact that there is most definitely many fossils underneath the forest, there is also my great fascination with paleontology since I was a kid.

As we exit the land mass and enter the hollow mid-section of our diagram, a cube-octahedron dual can be seen levitating above the molten magma. An equally massive icosahedron emerges from the clouds on the left. This is Perhaps the favorite part of the whole piece for me because it is the most mysterious. I like to think of these anomalies as vessels for unknown lifeforms, perhaps aliens from higher dimensions, or maybe it's our ancestors.

We find all this potential energy underneath the surface. This is I view the Waking Life. I see the world and move throughout it, but realize it's just the tip of the iceberg. Beyond the thin crust of physical realm is a metaphysical, vibrational reality that is where our source energy resides. This map attempts to take you back to the source and tap into that infinite abundance of energy when at Electric Forest.

About the Electric Forest Music In Schools Program

Electric Forest’s Music In Schools Program has supported local music education since 2012. Each year, thousands of dollars are donated to help keep music part of the curriculum in Michigan public schools.

By donating money and instruments to local school music programs, Electric Forest is bridging the gap between diminishing school budgets and music program resource needs. The Music In Schools Program also offers hands-on experiences to music students including performance opportunities at the festival, as well as on-site mentor opportunities, where students interested in music production “shadow” Electric Forest professionals during the event.

After all, Electric Forest’s home should be a place of musical discovery year-round!
