Only a few people in show business are recognized by just one name. Charo is one of them. She one of the few whose name brings a smile to everyone’s face. Instantly recognizable for her witty humor, loveable accent and her mastery of the flamenco guitar, it is Charo’s trademark expression: Cuchi-Cuchi -- which has endeared her to the world and made the name Charo synonymous with fun and excitement. She’s one of the few who deserve to be called a Master Performer. Since the 70′s, Charo, the musician, singer, comedienne, stage and screen performer, has been an integral proponent of contemporary Latin music. The spotlight on Charo has been shining brighter than ever since her acceptance of the Female Pop Album of the Year Award. She received this accolade at the Billboard International Latin Music Conference for her flamenco inspired platinum album, Guitar Passion. Charo has appeared in countless hit television shows, including more than forty-five appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and appeared on The Love Boat more than any other star. She also guest-starred on Sonny and Cher, The Carol Burnett Show, and numerous appearances with Bob Hope and Sammy Davis, Jr. She’s also been a regular on Hollywood Squares and VH1’s The Surreal Life. Charo’s also appeared in the films, Moon Over Parador with Richard Dreyfuss and The Concorde: Airport 79. About the Mask Artist: Kim Sharp-Leyba is a Graphic Designer/Rich Media Designer at The Denver Post as well as a local artist. She's been part of many local art shows and public art projects in Denver. She graduated from Drake University with a B.F.A. in design and painting. She mainly works with metal jewelry, painting, mixed media, soap and digital media.
