Item Description

March 26, 2017, the Wallingford Historic Preservation Trust will hold its 5th annual Downton Abbey High Tea and illustrated lecture. Enjoy the opulence of the era right here in Connecticut! Wonderful English tea, delicious pastries and finger sandwiches - food fit for Lord Grantham, Lady Mary, and their aristocratic friends. As some may know, the Downton Abbey series has a Wallingford connection. Creator Julian Fellowes based the series on the Dollar Princesses - one of which was Jennie Jerome Churchill, from the Wallingford-Meriden Jerome family, who married into the British aristocracy and became the mother of Winston Churchill.
