Item Description

Oil on canvas. (Image, 9x12 inches; frame, 12x15 inches).

With a studio on Harrison Avenue in the art district of SOWA, Boston, Lucas paints illusions and reflections in her still lifes and landscapes. The farmers’ market in Copley Square with Trinity Church as backdrop is both a still life and a reflection painting in the light and shadows she employs.

The artist states that she “paints what is at hand. I paint what I see.” She hails from Lexington, was educated in the Museum of Fine Arts School, and was awarded the Best of Show painting at the Cape Cod Art Association in 2012.
