Tao House and Bridges Restaurant, both in Danville
Hosted by Joanne and Terry Dale
Eugene O'Neill, Americas only Nobel Prize winning playwright, lived at Tao House (pronounced Dow) in the hills above Danville at the height of his career. It was here that he wrote his final and most memorable plays, including The Iceman Cometh, Long Days Journey into Night, and Moon for the Misbegotten.
From Danville well take a short shuttle ride to Tao House, now a part of the National Park Service. Well enjoy a docent led private tour of the house and grounds and leave with an understanding of how Eugene O'Neill's life struggles inspired plays that changed the history of American theatre and touched the souls of playgoers everywhere.
Following the tour, the shuttle will return us to our meeting point in Danville and well enjoy libations and a three course dinner with wine at the ever popular and acclaimed Bridges Restaurant in Danville.
