Item Description

Spend one night at historic St. Columba’s Retreat House in Inverness, formerly the Frick family summer house, with spectacular views of Tomales Bay!

Good for up to 10 people, including adults and young people ages 12 and up, and available any single night from Sunday through Thursday subject to availability.

Linens provided and a self-catered kitchen available.

St. Columba’s Retreat House is a four-story historic 1930’s summerhouse mansion converted into an Episcopal Church in the 1950’s. The bonus of having once been a large residence enabled the small parish to offer a Hospitality Ministry with sleeping accommodation for up to 32 guests. Filled with nooks and crannies - fireplaces and books - soaring ceilings, with walls and floors crafted from knot-free, old-growth redwood, the ambiance offers a sense of timeless rustic charm. No room is alike; all possess their own special charm.

There are many lovely, separate spaces for our guests to spread out - whether in solitude or to gather together - indoor and out! As a result, the Retreat House is a superior resource for conferences, meetings, workshops and seminars...or quiet time for reflection and meditation.

On the recent initiative of neighbors and local community, an amphitheater dating back more than 50 years was cleared and revitalized. Once used by the church and the community for weddings, graduations, outdoor services and music performances, the recent restoration by community volunteers culminated in two weekends of alfresco afternoon Shakespeare performances.

Come enjoy old Inverness peace and serenity overlooking Tomales Bay adjacent to Point Reyes National Seashore and the magnificence of West Marin!

Sleep, retreat and restore the West Marin way; bid today!
