Item Description
Point Reyes National Seashore Association is happy to partner with our friends at Roaring Camp Railroads to transport your crew through the forests and to the ocean.
Enjoy a railroad adventure for eight with these stockholder tickets, riding the open-air railroad cars from Felton, California, in the Santa Cruz Mountains, through the Redwoods and to the Pacific Ocean at Santa Cruz! Great for kids and families.
The story of Roaring Camp Railroads begins with mountain man, Isaac Graham, who settled in the area in the 1830s. Although Graham established the first saw mill west of the Mississippi River, the ancient Redwood trees were spared the woodman's axe and 25 years later became the first virgin stand of coastal redwoods to be protected from logging.
The area's first railroad, the Santa Cruz and Felton, began carrying tourists to the Big Trees and the Santa Cruz beach in 1875. In 2013, the Roaring Camp & Big Trees Narrow Gauge Railroad celebrated its golden anniversary. The Santa Cruz, Big Trees and Pacific Railway has been operating along the 1875 Santa Cruz and Felton route since 1985.
Whichever route you choo choo choose, this is a guaranteed to be a hit wth kids of all ages. Bid today!
