Item Description
Local historian and guide Julie Hulten will take your party of up to 6 people on a walk up the Tower Path to the Tower on Sleeping Giant, a Connecticut State Park in Hamden, Connecticut. The accompanying narrative will include a telling of the Native American legend "explaining" how the Giant came to his "sudden rest" on this spot, as well as in-depth history of the Tower's construction and the "resort" cabins that were built there in the late 19th-early 20th century. Included with the tour will be one copy of of "The Giant's Treasure Chest", an alphabet book, and one copy of "Born Among the Hills", the history of Sleeping Giant. Also included are 6 individual memberships to the Sleeping Giant Park Association or the family equivalent. Item Special Note
The tour will take 2 - 2 1/2 hours depending on interest with stops for history and stories. The hike is a 10% grade - about 1 3/10 miles one-way - no need for participants to be a 'hikers'. The tour will be scheduled to the mutual convenience of the tour guide and buyer, and is recommended for winter, spring, cool days in summer (to avoid unpleasantly warm situations), and fall.
The successful bidder will receive a written confirmation and/or certificate of purchase.
