In Hawaiian, the name Koa Kea translates to "white coral." According to Hawaiian mythology, the ancient Hawaiian world began with the birth of the goddess Po, whose first grandchild was the coral, the goddess Hina. Hina, short for Wahine meaning "woman", is a powerful source of new life and spirituality. The name of the Koa Kea Hotel & Resort is a tribute to the life-giving power of the coral reefs, the new life that has been brought to our hotel and the enduring dependence we have on the sea
