Item Description
Paul Naudè, founder and owner of the surf brand Vissla, started building surfboards in early 1970’s in his hometown of Durban, South Africa.
After eight years of building surfboards commercially, Paul’s career transitioned from being a board builder to becoming a leader in the surf apparel and lifestyle industry. However, he has always remained close to and participated in all aspects of surfboard craftsmanship.
Today, Paul lives in Laguna Beach, California with his wife and family. In his spare time, he continues to create a variety of surfboards, executing each step himself, from shaping to color and painting to finishing.
This surfboard, which Paul crafted and donated to this worthy cause, epitomizes modern surfboard design. It is a 6’2” by 19 1/4” by 2 3/8“ asymmetrical design for a regular foot surfer. Based on the resin art design, this board has been named ‘The Night Rider.’
Paul attributes the inspiration for this board to up-and-coming, renowned, and innovative, shaper, Ryan Burch.
